Bream is a fresh water fish. Its scientific name is Sparus auratus. It is also called as common bream, fresh water bream, carp bream or bronze bream. Bream lives in ponds, rivers, lakes and canals. The raw meat of Bream when cooked turns to white color from rosy. Its flesh is tender but firm and has a characteristic sweet flavor. Bream can be poached in wine or stuffed and baked or grilled or sauted. It can also be braised to use in stews.
The ‘Tiger Fish’ is the name generally used to refer to a variety of fish species of the genus Hydrocynus. Native to Africa in Zambia abundantly found in Western and North western, the Tiger Fish is located in scores of rivers and lakes throughout the continent. Although they can grow to quite large sizes, the African Tiger Fish can be seen as the equivalent to the South American Piranha. Its a major delicacy in most of Zambian meals for it proteins.
